National Men’s Health Gathering 2013 (Brisbane)

TUESDAY, 22 OCTOBER 2013 TO FRIDAY, 25 OCTOBER 2013, BRISBANE CONVENTION AND EXHIBITION CENTRE

Registrations and call for abstracts are now open for the National Men’s Health Gathering incorporating;

• 7th National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Male Health Convention
• 10th National Men’s Health Conference
• The Men and Vulnerable Families Forum

The theme of the Gathering is ‘Blazing a Trail: to healthier men and communities’

This year’s Gathering is in keeping with the theme and will be blazing a new trail. There are the best keynote speakers from around the world as well as many inclusions in the ticket price such as;

• Wednesday night cocktail reception with special guest TROY CASSAR-DALEY and his band (canapés and drinks included)

• Thursday night Gala Awards Dinner – This is a new initiative and will honour those who have made significant contributions to men’s health and the community. (We encourage you to submit abstracts to tell us of the work that you have been doing and may just end up receiving an award on stage!)

• Special Friday Gala Networking Lunch with special guest PETER FITZSIMONS

International speakers include:

• Prof. Alan White, UK - the world’s first professor of Men’s Health
• Mr. Richard Aston, NZ- chief executive of Big Buddy, a mentoring program for fatherless boys
• Mr. David Bartlett, UK -deputy chief executive, Fatherhood Institute UK
• Mr. Joe Puketapu, NZ - contracts manager, Te Hauora o Ngāti Rārua
• Mr. Glen Poole, UK - UK co-ordinator of International Men’s Day and Strategic Director of The Men’s Network
• Dr. Richard Fletcher –Family Action Centre, University of Newcastle
